Emplyoeeship - A Paradigm of New Thinking

The entire world around us is changing faster than ever before and we are stepping into a whole new business era where change is inevitable. The changes that happen in the erstwhile assumption that success are brought upon primarily by the top-management. Instead, it is an optimum organizational culture where the management and staff are equally liable for successes and failures and combine their efforts to achieve the best. This gave the birth of the term "Employeeship" which is a new thinking and effective concept about creating a strong commitment from everybody in the organization for the achievement of goals.

It can be defined as; "Mobilizing everybody's energy to win with the proper understanding of the VISION through the CONSTRUCTIVE CULTURE by showing greater ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT and COLLECTIVE MIND SETS."

1. Understanding The Vision

The vision is a long-term view, outlines what the organization wants to be in future   not only acting as a source of inspiration but also providing clear decision-making criteria. Leaders have the responsibility of communicating the vision regularly by narration or the illustration.

Strong communication with all employees will create a strong sense of direction and purpose.

2. Creation of Constructive Culture

It is a new constructive culture where leadership and staff share full responsibility for success and failure with the creation of such a working environment that stimulates involvement among employees and managers.

3. Discovering The Latent Talent& Leaders

Employeeship is based on the notion that everybody in your organization has enormous unused resources at their disposal their own potential .An organization needs that her employee must show an approach of showing want to, dare to, take responsibility and performing action.

A shared sense of responsibility is created through the emergence of self actualization i.e. help others to grow and develop.

Success in corporate life is in big part about mobilizing and focusing the energy of all employees to ensure the success, survival and growth of the company. Here everyones efforts are synergized with others to accomplish greater goals jointly than individually.

DEVISE TO MEASURE THE EMPLOYEESHIP

As discussed above the employeeship as the new thinking needs certain mechanism which may be helpful in measuring the degree of employeeship and its outcome. The different levels of measuring the employeeship,the devise and the outcome is discussed below

At An Individual Level

A tool for determining, evaluating and developing a person's attitude, behaviour and commitment to the success of the organization. This can be done at the time of recruitment, selection or through the training.

Employee's positive emotional attachment to the organization i.e. creation of affective commitment.

At Departmental Level

A tool for determining, evaluating and developing everybody's commitment to the survival and development of the department/organization. The 360 degree performance appraisal may be helpful here.

Regard for and fair treatment of each employee as well as respect for each employee's contribution to the company.

At Organizational Level

A tool for determining, evaluating and developing the degree of the suitability of the organization's culture, systems and policies which inspire the employees to do their best in their own and the organization's interest.
The feedback from the employee should be taken in to account.

Enhance the ability to compete in industry innovation.
